Suno Shorts loudness: why it still sounds small on phones
Shorts play in a feed of voice, trends, and compressed music. A Suno export at -18 LUFS will feel like it never started. Fix loudness, but do not destroy the hook’s transient.
Phone playback
Tiny speakers hide bass and exaggerate mud. If the Short still feels small after -14 LUFS, the problem is arrangement, not the last 2 dB of limiting.
A Shorts pass
YouTube / Shorts preset, -14 LUFS, -1.0 dBTP. Preview on the phone speaker with the case on. If the first second has no attack, shorten the intro in the edit rather than over-limiting.
Master the file in the browser tool, download WAV, then drop it on the Short.
FAQ
Do Shorts use a different LUFS than long videos?
The platform still lives near the same loudness neighbourhood. The difference is the competition in the feed, not a secret Shorts number.
